The poems in this small collection have been captured at a weekly poetry and art group held in Corbenic Camphill Community, near Dunkeld in Perthshire, a care home for adults with learning disabilities. In that group, a space has been created to allow poems to emerge from enthusiastic poets, many of whom cannot read or write and a few with limited verbal communication. The creative process has been encouraged by a relaxed atmosphere in which all who come along feel comfortable to speak out and say anything they feel like saying, in whatever way they want, or are able to say. There is chat, and laughter (a lot), and poetry read out loud, and when it feels right, members of the group will speak out or share their poems. These are improvised, made up on the spot and captured live in front of the rest of the group. Poems are audio-recorded and then transcribed.
